EGGS!

A chicken starts laying eggs when they are about 5-6 months old.  For days and days I always looked to see if there was an egg and there was no eggs.  Then one day I went down there to check and I found the first egg in the corner, outside the shed in the dirt!  It was blue.  The next day I checked again and there was no eggs.  It took three days until she laid another egg, in the same spot.  I ate them for breakfast.  Then I found a brown egg the nesting box and another blue in the dirt.  Then I found three.  Then I found four the next day.  I now have 4 chickens laying.  I have 4 not laying yet.  I have one chicken laying brown eggs and 3 chickens laying blue eggs.

I sold my first dozen eggs to the Wellborn family.  I charge $2.00 a dozen for the medium sized eggs.   These are the best tasting eggs EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Don't kill my chickens!

We all know that chickens taste good.  We just don't want animals killing our chickens and eating them.  There are ways to make the chickens be safe.  First make sure that when you build their house you have to put fencing around it.  At night you need to make sure you keep them in their nesting boxes.  Make sure you build their pen so other animals cannot get in.  Some predators are:  hawks, possums, raccoons, foxes,  snakes, coyotes, and cats.  But the number one predator is dogs!  I had a chicken that was still small and I found it dead.  A snake had tried to swallow it and couldn't.  Snakes will eat eggs too.
