Training Starts Young
Who says chickens are dumb? My chickens aren't dumb. When they were tiny little babies I held them alot. When they were a few weeks old I started tilting them on their backs. Now when I flip them over they just lay in my hands and they don't move, like a baby. I also taught them how to sit on my arm, like a perch. Every time I pick them up I pet them around their neck. Then one day when I went into their coop I sat down on my bench and Zahria jumped up and sat down beside me. I pet her and she went to sleep. I taught the chickens how to jump up and get the worm out of my hand. When I go into the gate they all come running to me. Zahria loves me the most and tries to run all the other chickens off.

One day when I bring the chicks home from school my mom took me and Olivia to the feed store to get chick feed. Then right in front of my eyes as we walked through the door I saw chicks. I said, "MOM can I have two of those chicks?". As we were about to leave my mom said ok and we picked out 2 chicks. Then we named one Tweety and one Sweety. I told my Pop Pop that I wanted ALL the chicks there so then he went and bought all of them. I named them: Oprah, LoLa, Feather Foot, Clover, Speedy, Stormy, Clemson, and Henrietta. Then I had 12.

Taking it way back 7 months...
Seven months ago my teacher wanted 3 eggs for our class to learn the life cycle. I asked my parents could I bring 3 eggs and keep the chicks after they hatch. We saw a crack in the egg and then it hatched. The chick was wet and slimy and yellow. The other chick hatched when we were working on work cycle. It was black and slimy. The last egg never hatched. They grew fluffy. Whenever we took one away it would tweet. We named the yellow one Zaria and the black one Spike. They pooped alot.
